What is Cambridge international program?

Cambridge international program offers a curriculum for students aged 5 to 19, with a wide range of subjects and flexibility giving schools the opportunity to shape their curriculum in an interesting and relevant way.

The pathway consists of 4 stages: Cambridge Primary, Cambridge Lower Secondary, Cambridge Upper Secondary and Cambridge Advanced – which build on the learner’s development from the previous period, but can also be offered separately.

Cambridge Primary

Cambridge Primary is an introductory program for children aged 5 to 11, consisting of 10 subjects that provide a foundation for students before progressing to Cambridge Lower Secondary.

Cambridge Lower Secondary

Cambridge Lower Secondary, for 11-14 year olds, consists of 10 subjects that prepare them for the next step of their education, providing a clear path for students to follow through Cambridge Pathway.

Cambridge Upper Secondary

Cambridge Upper Secondary is for students aged 14 to 16, offering two pathways: Cambridge IGCSE and Cambridge O-level.

• Cambridge O-level is an internationally recognized qualification equivalent to Cambridge IGCSE for international students and GCSE for UK students. However, at present, only 10 countries in the world still apply the O-level exam: Bangladesh, Brunei, India, Malaysia, Mauritius, Pakistan, Seychelles, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.
• Cambridge IGCSE is the world’s most popular international qualification for 14 to 16 year olds, it’s not only truly international – it offers students more options than any other international qualifications. That means more subjects to choose from, more ways to learn, and more ways to succeed.

Cambridge Advanced

Cambridge Advanced is for students aged 16 to 19 who need advanced study to prepare for university and includes two pathways: Cambridge AS & A-level and Cambridge Pre-U.

• Cambridge AS & A-level are intended for those who wish to enter university, graduate school or develop their own knowledge, understanding and skills on in-depth subject matter, independent thinking and application of knowledge, process and evaluate different types of information sources, think logically and orderly arguments, make recommendations and decisions, understand implications and communicate logically and clearly, work and communicate in English…
• Cambridge Pre-U prepares students with the fundamental skills and knowledge needed to succeed at university with a list of 24 core subjects. Each subject is a two-year study program with exams at the end of the term. Short courses (usually one-year programs) are also available in some subjects.
