Studying the subjects all-rounded is not only important for getting good grades, but it’s also beneficial in the long run if you want to pursue at higher level. Students who master genetics exercises but are unable to write essays expressing opinions on issues related to biodiversity will fail to meet the entrance requirements of their desired university.

From terminology to scientific nomenclature

Biology in English always puts pressure on students because the amount of specialized vocabulary cannot be more massive and difficult to remember. Students also need to immediately learn by heart a series of unfamiliar phrases that, not to mention the uncountable amount of scientific nomenclature dividing biological world.

Each living organism is classified according to taxonomic levels including: domain,  kingdom, phylum, class, order, family, genus, and species. Biology stratifies knowledge horizontally, which means that the subject consists of mostly related content based on major topic sections. You should note how the lecture topics are inter-connected and how does a concept relate to the bigger picture?

Therefore, you need to have logical thinking in the process of mind-mapping, drawing interrelated diagrams between cycles and different categories to explain relationships, build a chain of connections and thoroughly understand the fundamentals. This not only fosters passion but is also very beneficial for those who are inclined to become a PhD.
